Founder
Sri Asok Ghosh, the founder of SEVA, established the organization in 1984 with a deep commitment to social justice and sustainable development. Drawing inspiration from the philosophies of Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi, he envisioned a society where individuals are empowered through education, participation, and empathy. Tagore's belief in the interconnectedness of all life, symbolized as the sky, and Gandhi's principles of grounded, practical action for societal change, symbolized as the land, became the guiding principles for SEVA's work.
Ghosh's leadership has been instrumental in shaping SEVA's holistic approach, which integrates education, community empowerment, agricultural development, and environmental sustainability. His vision continues to drive SEVA's initiatives, fostering a just, inclusive, and sustainable society, especially for marginalized communities in West Bengal. Through his efforts, SEVA has not only impacted thousands of lives but has also created a ripple effect of social change, deeply rooted in values of cooperation and empathy.
